Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett announced that he planned to give more than 80 percent of his wealth to foundations that support charitable causes; in 2020 he raised that amount to 99 percent. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation was the main beneficiary. It was founded by Bill Gates, Microsoft founder as well as his wife Melinda. They focused on health and education in the world. Bill and Buffett have been friends since the beginning of the 1990s. The three Buffett children and the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation (named after his wife) were among the organizations that received donations. They focused on women's reproductive rights, funded college scholarshipsand various other charitable organizations. In the year 2010 Buffett and the Gateses established the Giving Pledge, an invitation for other wealthy people to contribute the majority of their money to charities.
